RACE Talent Pool

Engineers at the UK Atomic Energy Authority's RACE centre are designing and supplying solutions to some of the world’s most difficult engineering challenges, providing robotic and autonomous technology that enables complex engineering tasks to be carried out remotely.

RACE engineers are using the latest technologies in robotics, mechanical design, control and virtual reality to create systems that operate in environments too hazardous for manual entry.

Work we do:

  • Remote handling operations for the JET fusion reactor
  • Development of Remote Handling for ITER and beyond
  • Remote handling systems design and solution delivery worldwide

  • Standardised testing and equipment validation

  • Development of advanced control systems using AI technology

RACE's new purpose-built facility at Culham, Oxfordshire, houses a cross-functional project team with roles including:
